Deborah has over 40 years of healthcare experience

Deborah Warren is a Registered Nurse with over 40 years of healthcare experience, including 25 years in managed care. She successfully oversaw the attainment of NCQA Health Plan and Managed Behavioral Healthcare Organization (MBHO) Accreditations across multiple reporting entities. Her expertise includes managed care evaluation, quality management, accreditation compliance, management structure, and utilization management. Debbie joined Managed Healthcare Resources in 2019 as a Healthcare Consultant. 

Debbie has worked closely with national consulting firms, major insurance providers, and health plan management vendors during her career. As a National Vice President for Quality Improvement, she supported quality initiatives for Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid populations in multiple locations and oversaw the attainment of NCQA Health Plan, and Managed Behavioral Healthcare Organization Accreditations for her reporting entities.

While serving at Magellan Health Services/Magellan Southeast Care Management Center, Debbie developed and implemented an internal quality oversight and review program. As Director of Quality, she managed the Quality Program for multiple accounts in each business sector, including health plan (HMO/POS/PPO), workplace (corporate/EAP), and public sector (state/federal), for up to 9 million members. Additionally, Debbie was accountable for all customer-reporting functions related to QI activities and coordination of processes related to preventive health initiatives.

Debbie has consulted in healthcare quality and utilization with various entities, including national consulting firms, correctional institutions (prisons and jails), and managed care entities for over 15 years.

For three years, Debbie was an Off-Campus Coordinator for St. Joseph College External Degree Program (North Windham, Maine), overseeing teaching professors and administrative staff, and was an adjunct professor in the Healthcare Administration degree program.  

Debbie received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Syracuse University School of Nursing, Syracuse, New York, and her Master’s in Health Care Administration from Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia.  Debbie is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.

Debbie likes to remain active. She enjoys travel, tennis, golf, and hiking in her free time. She recently completed her second Camino de Compostela journey. In addition, Debbie routinely volunteers with the Atlanta Humane Society in the dog walker and dog adoption areas.
